I'm also finding it very hard to find new people on here. The Recommend button should definitely be on the to-do list. I found some pretty cool bloggers that way. Some folks have good taste.
Yeah, they could at least simplify the front page. Right now, it's basically just one long blog entry, which makes the site feel like a complete mess right from the get-go. Would be cool if the login interface was right there and immediately accessible, instead of it being a link in the middle of a bunch of paragraphs.
