Random Goodness! - Edit
*Edit - It turns out Secret Invasion happened last year. I am totally behind on my comics. I got the dates mixed up since we're in April and that ad was in April, too. The major difference is that it was April of 2008. I'm an idiot, but I'll be sure to collect the trade paper backs. I feel so stupid.
Status Report!
For those of you who don't follow me on Twitter or other sites, I've been giving updates on my progress on submitting a comic book series to Image Comics. One thing I forgot to do was update here. I was just a bit reluctant because I updated like crazy back when I was
trying to intern for Marvel earlier this year. Building up hype for
that and failing to get the opportunity really left me cold. I consider this site to be my internet home, so there's no harm in sharing my success and failures.
With that said, I'm on page 4 right now. The minimum pages to submit are 5, so I believe I just might stop there. I'm sure they would love to see more pages of art, but I have to ink and possibly color them, which will take even longer to do if I decide to add more. The one page synopsis is complete. To be honest, it was harder to pack everything on to one page. In fact, it was harder than drawing the samples. The logo is complete. I whipped it up in Photoshop, so if I need to change any colors or anything, it'll be as easy as stealing candy from a baby (I would know this). My goal for the week is to relieve myself of pencil chores and move on to inks. Once everything is neat, I'll see about posting some stuff on here for everyone to check out. Another thing to do later on in the coming weeks is to dust off the ol' camera and get photo reference of the city. It should be a fun day.
Resident Evil 5 - A Quick Review
There was a lot of buzz and hype about this game, so I had to purchase it (sort of). I might be jumping the gun, but I'm starting to think that it might be the best 2 player cooperative game ever. At the moment, there are other co-op games that escape my mind. I'm sure I'll remember them soon---probably when I'm on the toilet (that's where I remember most things). The graphics on the PlayStation 3 are incredible. You know a game has good graphics when you can't tell the difference between game play and the cut scenes. You'd be surprise how realistic the game looks, but I suggest you don't sit too close to the TV while playing. It just might mess up your eyes for a while...and yes I'm speaking from experience.
One thing that I really love about the game is the team work. I mean, it's not Socom, but it really gives off the sense that you're not alone facing zombies and other threats. At the same time, it stays true to the same survival horror genre we're all familiar with. Did I mention Sheeva Alomar is hot? Well, she is and I'm quite taken by her accent. If I were alone with her I'd------OH!. Sorry about that. Anyway, the game is something I'd recommend to anybody that's not queasy. It's definitely not for the little younglings. The computer assumes the role as your partner in the game, but if you want some human help, online play is available. I'm usually against online play, but since this is a co-op game, your partner is force to help if he or she wants to advance to the next chapter.
If you're not familiar with the entire Resident Evil story, don't worry. I'm on the same boat. I played the first one and got traumatized. Being that it was the first game I ever played on the PlayStation, it was culture shock and shell shock in one package. It was like sensory overload for my mind. Almost like throwing a virgin in a pit with porn stars. I'm a bit sad I never finished that game.
Gimme...
"The Cintiq 21UX interactive pen display provides the best-of-class pen
experience for working directly on the screen. It combines the
advantages of a large-format LCD monitor with the control, comfort, and
productivity of Wacom's most sophisticated patented cordless,
battery-free pen technology."
Do you realize how much damage I can do with this thing? This is no mere toy, but the next step to conquering the world! At least the art world...
Thanks to all of you who commented and recommended my last entry. I believe that was the most comments I ever received on this site.

Glad to hear that your art projects/domination are going well! Hell, my art right now consists of Photoshop and bottles of liquor (creating drinks, not consuming them). I still have to get a business card designed. Ugh...
The latest comic I picked up was book one of Liberty Meadows ("Eden"). I have adored Frank Cho's work, and finally found a book on clearance at my local shop. I never knew it was a bunch of comic strips. Either way, I love it!
I'll be getting a PS3 soon. There's only two games I want- Ghostbusters, and MLB '09 The Show.
Keep up the good work!
That's why I wait until after the "original run" is done with, this way I can collect on all of the issues in one pretty TPB or graphic novel, like "Hush" or "Identity Crisis" (meh) or "Long Halloween" (amazing).
Let it be known here and now, before you become famous, that I am your friend.
And as your friend, I am entitled to autographed copies.
I thought I'd share this...

@JoeTheBartender - Not bad. I thought they covered most of the GL stuff in New Frontier, but I never get tired of the origin. DC is moving in the right direction, but I would love to see a Justice League Unlimited direct to DVD movie. Bring back Kevin Conroy, Phil LaMarr, and the rest of the gang for a kick ass DVD.
@until_the_stars_go_out - Oh, I'm about to hit you up with a request soon. It concerns my comic---maybe even a side project or two.
@Jack_Hawksmoor - *dying of anticipation*
@until_the_stars_go_out - I'll send you a message soon.
I want one of those computer drawing pads too! I might have to start saving.
@Jack_Hawksmoor - That's one aspect that DC has Marvel trumped on- animated movies. I think DC does a better job than Marvels animation.
Dude, what happened to the C.B.N.U. Blogring? It's seriously died down...
@until_the_stars_go_out - I don't know. I guess it's due to m.i.a. bloggers. There's a lot of abandonment. We're the few still fighting the good fight. Heh.
