  • Dear Laptop (specifically the keyboard),

I never liked you to begin with. I find you to be to be riddled with flaws only a person of my impeccable status can detect. I can live with the fact that you’re not comfortable to work with, but the least you can do is be responsive. After all, that was the deal. I bring you the words and you place them down in a neat and orderly fashion. Sure, we can go with the excuse that my constant typing wore you down, but you’re a bloody keyboard for Christ sake. It's your job. That's like a pornstar complaining about anal. When I type a word, I expect all the letters to appear, but you’ve been making me look like a buffoon for the last two weeks. I think it’s funny that you’re not messing up as I type this. All of a sudden you work correctly? Did my plan actually work? Having a heart-to-heart with an inanimate object to make it run smoothly... I must be crazy or a pure genius because it worked. Diplomacy works with machines, after all.

    Sincerely,

    Kenny

  • The New Year

2009 was the worst year of my Xanga existence. I can’t even remember being on Xanga---except to keep in touch with a few individuals I really dig. As far as blogging goes, 2009 was an epic fail, so I hope to make up for it this year.

I guess I can start by reviewing 09. It sucked up until the end. All these years I talked about writing a movie script and getting into filmmaking, but toward the end of 2009, I actually started writing. If anything the lousy year taught me, I have to start “doing” rather than talking about it. Things will never get down. So, after reviewing a bunch of books on screenplays, I finally got my confidence and began writing. A few other things contributed to my confidence---mainly the GI Joe movie. If somebody can write that crap and get paid for it, I certainly can get in on that action. Why not? The only person stopping me is me. So, ever since November, I’ve been writing. So far, I have 112 pages to the 1st draft. All of this was produced on a borrowed lap top. That’s another story right there.

My PC caught a nasty virus and it had to be wiped clean. Of course, I forgot that my dear ol’ Uncle had the Windows XP disc over in Delaware, so I had to wait a while in order to reinstall it. He’s a busy man, by the way. Thing is, once I got the disc, I noticed things weren’t working smoothly, which introduced me to the world of drivers. To be honest, all of this was a huge learner experience. Took a while for me to get things working right. At the moment, I’m still messed up. My PC doesn’t have MS Word or Photoshop and those are my go-to programs. I’m not that effective without it.

Once Word and Photoshop are back, I’ll be back to normal. In the meantime, I’ll be wrapping up Act III to my script. I’m sure I have to go in and clean up a few parts and make everything smooth. It is a first draft and I’m running on training wheels, so I’m not expecting Citizen Cain or anything.

    I’ll be back shortly.

    Cheers,

    Kenny
